The mission of the Humane Society of Schuyler County is to:
Eliminate pet overpopulation
Prevent animal cruelty
Provide quality care for homeless animals
Promote responsible pet ownership
Help the community to develop humane principles toward all animals
Friends of the Horseheads Animal Shelter
The Horseheads Community Animal Shelter, Inc.. is a non-profit group whose mission is to engage the hears, hands and minds of the Horseheads area community to help care for and find homes for owner-surrendered companion animals. We promote and support responsible pet ownership by providing education, counseling and training.
Southern Tier K9 Police Canine Association
Founded in 1984, the Southern Tier K9 Police Canine Association is a private non-profit association dedicated to the training of police dogs and their handlers from throughout the state of New York and beyond. The STPCA is funded by membership fees and private donations. These funds are used to purchase K-9’s for training and for the purchase, maintenance and replacement of equipment used in training.
Schuyler County K9 Team
The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit is composed of two teams run solely on community donations.
